If you are interested in creating
beaded jewellery, classes are offered on a one-on-one basis
within the Sydney suburbs at $60 per hour for up to 3 students.
(So you and 2 of your friends can split the $60 between you per
hour.) Just send an email to us at
amanda@web4business.com.au. These exclusive classes are
conducted in the privacy of your home or mine and run in 2 hour
or 3 hour sessions. We will travel up to 10 minutes
outside the CBD or up and down the Northern Beaches peninsula.
We teach basic beading right
through to advanced. We also teach wire wrapping skills.
In May 2008 a
robyn pendant won
an award by poll on the beadingforum.com.au for the theme of
"Not what it seems." The pendant has the surprise of an
African ruby breast hidden under the
wing.

In August 2007 a
wire pendant won an
award by poll on the beadingforum.com.au for the theme of Walt
Disney. The pendant was titled "The White Witch from
Narnia."

In August 2007 a selection of wire
worked jewellery was put on display at Studio 6 Carlton Street Manly for a
week along with other amazing art.
At
Amanda’s Jewellery, we are as much about furthering the beading
passion to others as we are about selling jewellery.
For 2004 and 2005 Amanda Katz managed the Jewellery Booth at Kid’s Universe
(www.kidsuniverse.net.au)
(held at Homebush Bay Olympic Park in Sydney). In 2004, Amanda
developed 3 projects targeting specific age groups in skills for
children and with 700 bracelets made each of the 4 days on average
it was a wonderful success.
Kids Universe 2005 was also a grand
success. Narrowing down project ideas to an elastic
bracelet, the Jewellery Booth was deemed one of the best in the
show with over 2,300 bracelets made in the 4 days.
Sadly there was no Kids Universe 2006 as it appears the event has
been retired.
We
have started creating birthday activity kits for you to use at
your child's next party. It came about from the directions
and projects we have created for Kid's Universe when Amanda Katz
was asked numerous times to come host party activities.
While we are not endeavouring at this time to personally come to
parties, it raised the issue that there is no reason our product
shouldn't. Already tested at a local school fundraiser and
numerous birthday parties, the
directions teach any adult who know how to tie an overhand or
square knot how to finish off the elastic bracelets. A great
event involving any children or the young at heart!
Based on creating
kits and directions for Kid's Universe in 2004 and 2005, we
can offer you a range of kits to purchase complete with very easy
to understand pictures and directions for hosting your own beading
party at home with the kids. There are 3 different projects
to choose from ranging in difficulty of skill. Simply
contact us at amanda@web4business.com.au
for more information.

Melanie Dilday is an amazing polymer clay and
silver art clay artist from the Byron Bay NSW area. I
approached her in 2005 to custom make some beads for this
style of bracelet and she came up with this marbleised
beautiful technique. Should you want any of her beads
featured on one of these wire worked bracelets just ask, we
can do just about anything! |
